How diesel fuel contamination develops, and how contamination can cause catastrophic damage to diesel engine components.

This piece from AXI grabbed us because it’s pretty comprehensive and does a good job of describing a 14 step list of the contaminated fuel “Failure Chain Reaction.” Usually that starts with some injector valve deterioration followed by reduced pressure through the injector nozzle. Continued use of bad fuel ultimately leads to increased fuel consumption, obvious engine distress sounds and and visible signs, and then injector failure.
